Marimbas

Three types of wood are used to make marimbas:

Honduras rosewood (dalbergia stevensonii), precious wood subject to international CITES II regulations for import authorization. One of the best species of rosewood known to date for its sound properties. More and more rare. Hurry up !
African rosewood, or light rosewood (Swartzia fistuloides), good sound properties and good durability. For mid-game instruments.
The padauk for entry-level marimbas. (To be banned for xylophones because this wood is too soft to ensure proper durability of the keyboard)
